Galway community 'numbed' after teenagers killed in road crash.
There were four people in the car and Lucas was pronounced dead at the scene; the other three were taken to University Hospital Galway, where Kirsty was pronounced dead.Parish priest Fr Ray Flaherty has said young people will be offered as much support as possible."They're numbed and they're in disbelief over what's happened," he said.
"We hear about these stories happening in other places, and then when it comes to your own community it becomes more real. "The pain and the suffering that the families are going through; and particularly remembering the two young people that died - their families are feeling it terrible at this time".
"They're providing psychological services, councillors, etc and teachers will be onboard as well to give support to the young people. "They'll try to understand what has happened in their own way, and how they're going to process that," he added.Share this article
