A motorist in Galway escaped uninjured after a collision on the M6 during a recent snowstorm. Gardaí issued warnings to drivers about the dangers of driving in snowy conditions, urging them to be prepared and emphasizing safety.

A Galway motorist was lucky to escape without any injuries after a collision on the M6 during this week's heavy snow. Gardaí warned motorists to be prepared if they were going to set out on a journey, highlighting one motorist who had a collision in Galway while the county was under an Orange Weather Warning. Fortunately, the motorist escaped without any injuries following the collision, which occurred near to the toll plaza at Cappataggle.

A Garda spokesperson wrote: “Luckily there were no injuries at this incident on the M6 near the toll plaza at Cappataggle, Co. Galway, but collisions can very easily happen in the temperatures we're experiencing this week. “Please be prepared if you must take a journey by vehicle.” Previously, Gardaí warned that officers in Wicklow were forced to issue fines to the drivers of 15 cars who had been parked on the narrow roads around the Sally Gap taking pictures of the snow. A Garda spokesperson warned: “We understand that people want to take in the snowy scenery but please help us out and be responsible.
