TV chef Gino D'Acampo is facing serious allegations of 'distressing' and 'sexually inappropriate' behaviour, according to an investigation by ITV News. Multiple individuals have come forward with their experiences, describing the incidents as 'unacceptable,' 'distressing,' and 'horrendous.' These alleged incidents reportedly occurred over a 12-year period while working with D'Acampo on shows such as ITV's Family Fortunes and Gino and Fred: Emission Impossible.
The accusations date back over a decade, with some individuals expressing fear about potential repercussions if they spoke out about their alleged encounters with the 48-year-old. One woman, referred to as Hannah to protect her identity, told investigators that she was subjected to vulgar comments from D'Acampo in 2011. She alleges that he said he would 'like to turn me over and f*** me up the a*** against the kitchen counter.' Hannah claims there were laughs from crew members after his comment, but she saw the 'shock' and 'horror', alleging his behaviour made her feel 'very, very, very small.' Speaking to ITV News Correspondent Sejal Karia, Hannah added: 'I definitely saw it as some kind of power play. The very act of what he said was aggressive. He did not think that was an inappropriate thing to say to me.'D'Acampo has 'firmly denied' these allegations, which he described as 'deeply upsetting.' Responding to the allegations, D'Acampo's lawyers stated: 'This allegation from almost 15 years ago has never, until now via a media request for comment, been raised or put to Mr D'Acampo. He does not recall it, nor accept that this happened. Mr D'Acampo is horrified to be accused of 'power play' and an 'aggressive act'. He emphatically and unequivocally denies these allegations.
