Glasgow to play host to inaugural Scottish Influencer Awards 2022 in October.

Glasgow is to play host to The Scottish Influencer Awards 2022, a major new awards ceremony recognising Scotland’s stars of social media.

BBC Radio 1 presenter and broadcaster Arielle Free will host the inaugural event at the Radisson RED Glasgow, which will see the country’s top influencers honoured for their endeavours in the digital world. Fifteen award categories, supported by a raft of prestigious partners and assessed by a panel of illustrious judges, will be presented across the ceremony, spanning Food, Drink, Health & Wellbeing, Family and Lifestyle, as well as Travel, Interiors & Design, Arts & Culture, Style, Beauty and Visual.

Special recognition will also be made to those influencers who "define inspiration and whose social endeavours are underpinned with a positive contribution to diversity, equality, and/or inclusivity". The first-of-its-kind event for Scotland will involve a reception and afterparty - with Glasgow electronic duo Illyus & Barrientos on hand to provide the tunes.Sign up to Glasgow Live's newsletter Get all the latest Glasgow news and headlines sent straight to your inbox twice a day by signing up to our free newsletter.
