Dr Johanna Green, a senior lecturer at the University of Glasgow, tragically passed away the day before her 40th birthday
Dozens of heartfelt tributes have been paid for a “remarkable” university lecturer after she tragically lost her bowel cancer battle. Dr Johanna Green was hailed an “exceptional teacher, scholar, and friend” following her death at the The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow on Thursday.
Johanna was due to celebrate her 40th birthday the day after she passed away. Ann Gow, Professor of Information Studies, who was a friend and colleague of Dr Green, has penned a heartfelt tribute. “She was a model of research-led teaching, skilfully utilising the vast collections within the University's Library Archives & Special Collections to inspire and engage her students. Her classes were characterised by innovation, as she fearlessly embraced technology to create immersive learning experiences.
Ann added: “We, as a community, mourn the loss of an exceptional teacher, scholar, and friend. Johanna's legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her contributions to our lives will continue to shape the future of all who knew her.”
