Henderson said: "I just needed to get back playing and enjoying myself and the gaffer has given me that chance. Everything about this place is great - both he and Whitts have been so supportive and allow me to go and play my game. The gaffer has been massive for me and I got a really good vibe from him when we first spoke about me coming here.
Henderson was one of many who sparkled against the Diamonds as Ayr ran riot. He added: "Everything seemed to click and Airdrie are a right good side with a good manager. So for us to come away with that type of performance and the manner of the win was brilliant.
