A carnival in Salford has been cancelled at the last minute due to the 'potential risk of serious personal injury', according to the council.
The council added the decision has been taken to 'protect the safety of local residents and attendees' and that organisers did not adhere to processes required of event organisers across the city. Councillor Barbara Bentham, lead member for environment, neighbourhoods, sport and leisure, said: “The planned Patricroft Carnival will now not take place on 18-20 August. Permission for this event to take place has now been revoked and the event organisers have been informed.
