Winchester Hagans, of Auburn, is facing charges of criminal littering for the hand-built flower box he put next to the grave of his would-be wife, Hannah Leigh Ford.
told local ABC affiliate WTVM.
Ford, 27, died in a car crash in January 2021 just a month after Hagans asked her for her hand in marriage. The woman’s father, Tom Ford, signed the warrant for Hagans’ arrest, which the grieving boyfriend said confounds him. Hagans built the flower box himself, which featured pictured of the couple together and had planted flowers because he said Hannah didn’t care for cut flowers.The flower box was built because Ford was said to prefer ‘planted’ flowers over cut.Hannah Ford was proposed to a month before the deadly crash.The city had told him the box technically violated local rules, but that they are rarely enforced — unless requested by the family.
Ford’s father, who local media were unable to reach, didn’t talk to Hagans before signing the warrant for his arrest.Share this article:
