Harrowing and powerful documentary on Holocaust survivors from Auschwitz will air tonight
Auschwitz.Auschwitz, More 4 and Channel 4 will be screening a new documentary which features the moving and revealing testimony of 16 Holocaust survivors., viewers will witness colourisation of black and white archive footage .
In doing so, the filmmakers aim to bring a contemporary resonance to the unprecedented horrors of what constituted daily life in the Nazi concentration camp.In terms of its narrative structure, the series features the moving and revealing testimony of more than 15 Holocaust survivors, including the seldom-heard voice of a Romani holocaust survivor and a member of the Jewish underground who participated in armed resistance against the Nazis.
"Also, by including a Jewish resistance fighter from Vilna and a Roma holocaust survivor from France, I think Auschwitz Untold: In Colour adds unique perspectives typically overlooked by most documentaries about the Holocaust.”at 9pm on Sunday 26 January. Part two airs the next night. In case you missed those screenings, a 90-minute special will be shown on Wednesday 29 January at 10.30pm on Channel 4.
