A distressing scene unfolded in Dublin over the bank holiday weekend when a horse that collapsed had to be put to sleep.Animal welfare charity My Lovely Horse Rescue was called to the scene to provide assistance. The horse’s owner, a vet and gardai were also present.Despite the efforts of all involved, the horse could not be saved and was put to sleep.A spokesperson said: “A very sad heartbreaking scene in Dublin right now, Monday 1st of May, 7.28pm.

Poor thing. A very heart breaking scene.”A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: "Gardaí in the Bridewell responded to an incident in the Dublin 7 area on Monday afternoon, 1st May 2023.
