Highs of 27C are expected in parts of Yorkshire on Monday
The county will be hit with highs of 27C to start the week on Monday - with more sunny skies and warm weather to follow.
And the warm weather is set to stick around in the coming days, with highs of 27C forecast in parts of the region, including Sheffield and Bradford, on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Forecasters say conditions will also feel “increasingly humid” before thunderstorms hit Yorkshire on Thursday. They explained that the UK heatwave threshold is met when a location records a period of at least three consecutive days with daily maximum temperatures meeting or exceeding the heatwave temperature threshold - which is 25C degrees for Yorkshire - meaning that the county could experience its own heatwave, before conditions change towards the end of the week.
