The beloved Irish home renovation show, 'Home of the Year,' is back for its 11th season with a fresh judge and a lineup of captivating homes. Siobhan Lam joins the panel alongside returning judges Hugh Wallace and Amanda Bone, promising to bring a unique perspective to the competition. The show will feature 21 remarkable homes across various counties, showcasing diverse design styles and inspiring viewers.
Home of the Year is gearing up for its highly anticipated return to our screens with a fresh face joining the judging panel. Sara Cosgrove, a familiar face for three years on the RTE show, has stepped down, making way for interior consultant Siobhan Lam to take her place alongside returning judges Hugh Wallace and Amanda Bone.
Eager fans can rejoice as the show's comeback is just weeks away, with its premiere scheduled for February 18th on RTE for an eight-week run, culminating in a grand finale in April.Entering its 11th season, Home of the Year will showcase 21 stunning homes across various counties, including Carlow, Cork, Derry, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kildare, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford, and Wicklow. From reimagined semi-detached houses to architectural marvels and restored period homes, the popular series promises to inspire viewers with a diverse range of design styles. Each week, the judges will embark on visits to three exceptional homes, evaluating them on a scale of 10 based on individuality, functionality, and clever design. The home earning the highest combined score in each episode will advance to the grand final in April, where one lucky homeowner will be crowned the ultimate champion.Joining the judging panel this year is Siobhan, founder of April and the Bear, who brings her passion for quirky design, fearless color choices, and statement pieces to the table. She joins returning judges Hugh, an architect and founding partner of Douglas Wallace Consultants, and award-winning architect Amanda of Amanda Bone Architects. Last year's crown went to Shane Murray and Marty Campbell, whose remarkable renovation project transformed a 1920s terraced house in Dublin into the 2024 Home of the Year. The couple, who purchased the property in 2022, undertook a major renovation project, breathing new life into the previously dilapidated house. Speaking to RSVP Live about their victory, Shane expressed his delight, stating, “It feels brilliant. For me, the show is all about personality compared to other home shows where a lot is about big, open spaces and the architecture and design. “We were very much about our personality and we are very happy. We started the process without knowing how far we would get, we had no expectations about it. We’re ecstatic. When we found out we won, it was surreal.” Home of the Year is set to return on Tuesday, February 18th at 8.30 pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player, airing every Tuesday for eight consecutive weeks.
