Total of 395 race meetings scheduled for 2025 is unchanged from this year
Horse Racing Ireland expects to submit to Government its final plan for the development of the country’s second all-weather racecourse in Tipperary shortly, although some uncertainty remains around when building work will begin.

Delivery of a second all-weather track, alongside Dundalk, is a key HRI ambition. Main contract tender prices are expected later this month when HRI will seek final approval for its business case from the Department of Agriculture under the Government’s infrastructure guidelines.Other tracks were asked to apply to stage Tipperary fixtures in the event of closure.
“In particular, given the need to produce a ‘shadow’ 2025 fixture list to accommodate the planned development of an all-weather track at Tipperary, we thank the racecourses for their considerable contributions,” he said.
