Huge increase in numbers of Irish people taking anti-depressant medication since 2012
Irish people are popping anti-depressant pills like never before, a shocking new probe revealed today.
Former Cork hurler and mental health advocate Conor Cusack told the Irish Daily Mirror on Wednesday: “I’m not one bit surprised. About €1 billion in funding was given to mental health services in Budget 2019, which included €55m in new development funding.He added: “If I was Simon Harris I’d be saying ‘why would I be giving them any more money when they can’t tell us where it’s being spent.’
“So if I was [Health Minister] Simon Harris I would be saying, yeah, are they even doing the right thing and due diligence?
