Make-up artist Nick Barose captured Wakanda’s earthbound-meets-futuristic aesthetic .
Said future came in the form of vibranium eyes, which Barose achieved using Lancôme’s Holiday 2022 Eye & Face Palette to create a wash of worthy metallics. As for the past and present and their more terrestrial colour ways, those could be found pressed of cheeks and lips, the actor’s pout painted with L’Absolu Rouge in 118 French Coeur, “the perfect terracotta tone that pops but is still earthy,” according to Barose.
“I feel grounded and happy to be finally sharing this movie with the world,” says Nyong’o of the evening. And of her beauty: “I love working with Nick because he always takes inspiration from our experiences together. With this look, he has captured both my homeland and Wakanda in the colours and tones.”
