Met Eireann have forecasted temperatures as low as -4C, while other experts suggest that models show -7.2C is possible in the coming days as the weather cools off
A weather warning has been issued near Ireland as heavy snowfall is expected across large areas, and an Orange alert hasn't been ruled out yet.
In an update issued on Wednesday 1 January, they stated: "Yellow weather warning issued: A risk of snow across parts of Scotland, England and Wales. Saturday 1200 – Monday 0900".Read more: Four days of snow forecast as Met Eireann pinpoints counties that will be hit Meanwhile, Met Éireann has not yet issued a warning for the Republic, but they have forecasted temperatures as low as -4C, while other experts suggest that models show -7.2C is possible in the coming days.Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather shared his view of the weekend, Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 January 2025, showing charts indicating a sharp freeze.
And, temperatures are forecast to drop as low as -4C and a severe cold snap will make its presence felt as early as today, 1 January, across Ireland, reports Galway Beo.
