Garry Ringrose celebrated a roundy birthday in Ireland's Algarve camp yesterday in low-key fashion but, after recently popping up on the wing for Leinster in the Champions Cup, he is hungry for action against England....in any position

Leinster experimented with different selections in recent games and, with Jordie Barrett and Robbie Henshaw picked at centre, Ringrose was put on the right wing for the Champions Cup victory over Bath nine days ago.

"But at half time, we're still able to smile and say, 'Right, if it happens again...' - you've got to experience it so that if it happens again you can try and stop it. Ringrose put that try behind him and played his part in the seven-try triumph, scoring one of the five-pointers himself. The Dubliner doesn't hesitate when asked if he would be happy to do the job there for Ireland if the situation arose.

He had lunch planned with James Ryan and Jamison Gibson-Park and there will be a cake wheeled out at some stage to mark the occasion. Reaching 30 hasn't focused his attention on the finish line as he has a long way to go yet but he appreciates that this time in his life is precious.
