Met Eireann's latest forecast for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are predicting milder conditions than usual for this time of the year but we may see much cooler conditions by the new year
Snow might not be on the immediate horizon, but it could show up as the calendar rolls over into the new year.
WXCharts predicts that Galway, Mayo, Sligo, and Donegal and Wicklow may experience snowfall, with snow appearing on the maps into new years day and January 2nd. "While weather models do show an increasing trend of cooler air for start of January the details are far from clear and a cool spell could be short lived blast or possibly start of a few rounds of cold spells. NAO and AO both possibly going negative increases chances of cold."
