Ireland is in for some wild weather with warnings due to take effect from Sunday evening, but conditions are set to change significantly in the next couple of weeks

Weather warnings in place in Ireland on Sunday evening will give way to mild conditions and temperatures of 18 degrees later this week, possibly hitting even higher later in the month.

The good news is that conditions are set to turn from Monday, with very mild weather for October and temperatures reaching as high as 18 degrees by the middle of the week. The milder weather unfortunately doesn’t mean it won’t be wet, with varying degrees of rain forecast for pretty much every day from Monday through to next weekend, with Tuesday likely to be the wettest day of the week.

As always, it is important to note that long-range weather models are notoriously subject to change. Met Eireann acknowledges that its extended forecasts “can sometimes provide insights into weather patterns,” but also cautions that they have “generally low skill” because predictions beyond one week become increasingly uncertain due to the chaotic nature of the atmosphere.
