Twitter Ireland bosses slam Dublin Airport taxi rank as 'the worst' after claims of long waiting times
She wrote on Twitter: “Seriously @DublinAirport someone needs to sort out the management of the Terminal 2 taxi rank!Ian Plunkett, Twitter director of global policy communications, replied: “The worst. And cash only.”One person said: “Totally agree I was there at 8pm about 60 people waiting and they were only sending up 2 taxis at a time.
Another person said: “This service is an absolute disgrace. Total incompetence and mismanagement. No designated area for a pre booked taxi adds to the misery. A third person said: “Sinèad totally agree. We were in a queue of at least 200 arriving back mostly from Newcastle from the Heineken Cup late last Sunday.
Siobhan O'Donnell, spokesperson for the daa: "There is a dedicated taxi rank at Dublin Airport which can accommodate up to 100 taxis at any one time servicing both terminals and 360 in the overflow area. There is a café located at the rank and toilet facilities."They are constantly managing the steady flow of taxis for customers and will issue a call out to airport permit taxi operators when there is a shortfall.
