Police officer rushed to hospital after being 'severely bitten' by taxi passenger in Co Derry
Officers were on patrol in the Rainey Street area of Magherafelt, Co Derry in the early hours of Sunday morning when they were flagged down by a taxi driver.
As officers approached the vehicle to speak to the woman, they say they were met with an "onslaught of obscenities" before the taxi door was "kicked open". "The subsequent actions of the individual in question left three officers injured with one being hospitalised after being severely bitten. "Disgusting and unacceptable behaviour towards those who were only trying to help, starting with the taxi driver, simply trying to get her home.
