Earlier this month, Israel agreed to a ceasefire in Gaza with Hamas. Former American President Joe Biden has said the agreement will “halt the fighting in Gaza, surge much humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilians, and reunite the hostages with their families after more than 15 months in captivity”.
While this was a much-needed breakthrough in the conflict, help is still much needed for the people affected. 70 per cent of Northern Gaza is close to famine, nine out of 10 people have been displaced and there is no functioning health care system. When you donate with ActionAid Ireland you help provide food, water, shelter, healthcare, hope & care to families in Gaza.
90 per cent of any donation will go directly to their Gaza Crisis Appeal, while the other 10 per cent of your donation will be retained for ActionAid’s Emergency Action Fund which will only be used to ensure that they are prepared and able to respond quickly and more effectively to future emergencies and crises. They have over 1250 workers/volunteers providing relief in Gaza. Donations to the Red Cross will go towards food, shelter, water, and medical care.
