The New Zealand native moved across the world with his long-time partner Arnica Palmer in 2017, with the couple creating a new life for themselves together in Ireland

He left his home country of New Zealand six years ago with his now-wife Arnica to play for Leinster.

He attended high school at Nelson College where he played rugby, but also represented New Zealand Under-15s at basketball and he was a junior and senior schools athletics champion. After living in Ireland since 2017, James met Ireland rugby’s residency rule and qualified to compete for the country in November 2020.

The Leinster player has credited her support during their time living in Ireland, sharing that it’s been difficult for them to be far away from their family. When did James and Arnica get married?
