The former Liverpool defender shared highlights from his first day as hundreds of Scousers sing Hey Jude

Jamie Carragher was spotted at Glastonbury as thousands of festival-goers arrived for the first day of the event.

The festival at Worthy Farm, in Somerset, is massively popular with people from Merseyside. Writing on X, Adam said: “Hundreds of scousers singing ‘Hey Jude’ at Glastonbury is the full-circle pop culture moment I should have seen coming." Meanwhile, @JWJB_CAFC wrote: “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Scousers are sound, I love them. Glastonbury festival 2024 is sorted.” Former LFC defender Carragher is a regular Glastonbury attendee, and has been spotted there in previous years with his wife Nicola, family and friends.READ MORE:Glastonbury 2024 live updates: weather, line-up, map and headliners

The 2024 festival is no different for the Sky Sports pundit who was spotted in the St Remo bar on Wednesday night. Jamie posted highlights from his first day with the caption “Wednesday at Glastonbury” followed by the green tick and party emojis. The retired footballer has also been keeping up his fitness. Several festival goers spotted him completing the Glastonbury 5km fun run, organised by Ravers2Runners and Greenpeace UK.

The ECHO spoke to people heading down there on coaches yesterday from Liverpool ONE. Some were heading to the festival for the twentieth time while others were on their first visit. Lots of Scouse musicians and bands will be at the festival too. Jamie Webster and The Farm are set to perform the greatest hits. Jamie shared his delight when the latter confirmed they would be playing at the Left Field stage last month.
