The LS831 flight to Palma was first hit with delays and then took off from Terminal 2 at about 7.54am, however just an hour after taking off it was forced to divert over Stoke-on-Trent and land back at Manchester again shortly after 9.30am
A Jet2 flight to Majorca that took off from Manchester Airport had to turn around just an hour after setting off yesterday morning .
According to FlightRadar, the plane was heading south towards the Spanish island and was 10,000ft above Stoke-on-Trent when it was diverted back to Manchester. Further details about the 'operational' issues have not been disclosed by the airline however it is understood a second flight then departed from Manchester shortly after 10am, reports the Manchester Evening News.
