Joe O’Reilly, who murdered his wife Rachel at their home in Dublin, in October 2004, was formally told last week that he was being denied his freedom for the fourth time
Wife killer Joe O’Reilly has threatened to sue – after the Parole Board once again refused him release from prison, it is understood.
It is understood the murderer moaned about the way he felt he was being treated – and stated he believed it was different to other life sentence prisoners – due to his infamy. “He says there is prejudice against him and those in authority do not want him to progress behind bars. He believes he may have to sue.”
Sources say O’Reilly was realistic about his chances of release after 17 years being slim – but they say he’s particularly vexed about not being given opportunities at temporary release and open prison. Rose previously told us how she still thinks of that horrific day, and how she hopes O’Reilly is never released.
