Crystal Palace shareholder John Textor has been granted a period of exclusivity in order to pursue a deal which would see him become Everton's new majority owner
The long process of Everton finding new owners has moved forward, with American businessman John Textor granted exclusivity in talks to buy Farhad Moshiri's majority stake.
In an exclusive interview with the Mirror last weekend, Textor declared his intention in the Merseyside club. He said: “I am still an owner in Palace - I would have to clear out of that before I could buy anything else. We have made clear our interest in having a majority interest in a UK club, whether it is Championship or Premier League.
Any development which ends in Moshiri - who purchased a majority stake in 2016 - leaving the club will be greeted positively by Everton fans, who have watched a rapid decline under his stewardship.
