Karen Byrne made her debut as a Dancing With The Stars judge on Friday evening as the show returned for another season. The star has been a professional dancer on Dancing With The Stars for seven seasons, since 2017, winning the impressive glitterball trophy twice and even finding love with her 2018 dance partner Jake Carter.
Fans of the series were delighted that Karen would be joining the judging panel thanks to her expertise and sparkling personality, and one pun on tonight's show in particular had viewers howling. However, Karen's comment stood out among the others, as her constructive critique ended with a bit of a raunchy pun about the singer's leather trousers. 'It was a bit stiff, Mickey, But that could have been your trousers,' she quipped, to much laughter. Viewers on social media found the joke hilarious, and said it proved Karen's place among the judges for them as someone who was not afraid to have a bit of craic. 'A little bit stiff Micky - good woman Karen,' said one viewer via X. 'I really hope Karen Byrne had a serious bet on with someone that she could say ‘stiff Mickey’ on national television,' said another. A third said: 'I take back any previous comment. That 'stiff mickey' remark has sold Karen to me as a judge.' Karen joined the top table with long-standing judges Loraine Barry, Brian Redmond and Arthur Gourounlian, who are also known for making puns in their commentary.
