Monaghan native Kayleigh Trappe is embracing Country Music Week on Dancing With The Stars, set to perform a Rumba to Dolly Parton's iconic 'I Will Always Love You'. The social media star hopes to please both country music fans and her family, who are eager for her to stay in the competition.

It's Country Music Week on Dancing With The Stars for the very first time, and Monaghan native Kayleigh Trappe is hoping this week is not her week to go home. A lover of country music herself, she is set to perform a Rumba to Dolly Parton 's I Will Always Love You. The social media star says that she hopes to do the country music fandom justice with her dance, and joked that her family will not be pleased if this is her week to leave the competition.

She told RSVP Live: 'Hit the Diff is the national anthem in Monaghan so I was expecting to get Joyce Country Céilí Band or something like that. Monaghan is so well known for its country music and jiving. But I got the absolutely iconic Dolly Parton! You can’t get any better than that.' She admits: “I hope to do it justice. I know all the country fans around Ireland will be watching me very closely. I can’t wait to embrace the theme. It’s the first year of Country Week and I think it’s a golden idea.' 'Pretty much if I’m booted out this week, my family is locking the door and I can go somewhere else,” she laughed. However, she is maintaining a positive mindset. “No, I’m not worried, I see it as a motivation. I want to be my county proud, I want to do rural Ireland proud.' 'So many people, like Marty Mone, have been onto me to wish me well. I think it’s fantastic. So nothing to worry about. I don’t think….yet!” She added that she has had 'a very bizarre journey in my career so far' and that DWTS is now a part of that, and is looking to the future. 'I just love the idea of young people especially looking at me going, 'You can do anything if you put your mind to it',' she said. 'It's not just an entertainment show or a dance competition. It has been so much more for me and I hope that after the show ends that there's just something else that's going to open up for me as well.' As part of this week's Team Dance, Kayleigh will be dancing with Kevin Dundon and Jack Woolley, and their pro dance partners Alex Vladimirov, Ervinas Merfeldas and Rebecca Scott. The trio will dance to Kenny Loggins’ 80’s country rock classic Footloose. Dancing With The Stars airs Sunday nights at 6.30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
