Stephen O’Brien decided to honour his late father Noel when he and his wife Tara chose the name for their newborn son.They chose a meaningful name that is chosen to their hearts and important to their family.
Speaking to RSVP Magazine, the Kerry football player shared: “My father’s name was Noel. We wanted to honour him. Stephen’s father Noel passed away after a long illness two months after he won his first All Ireland medal with Kerry.He said: “My father was a carpenter so it’s nice to see some of the work he did. It’s a legacy that he’s left. There’s loads of different jobs he’s done over the years and they’re living on now that he’s gone.”
“It is daunting, but I’m lucky that my wife is a nurse as well so she’s well able to deal with all the medical things. She’s on the ball,” he said.
