'Look, Adrian has two weeks now which will definitely stand to him.'
Kilkenny boss Derek Lyng says that the two-week break gives Adrian Mullen every chance of featuring in the Leinster final.
Mullen was on the bench for Sunday’s one-point win over Wexford which put Kilkenny into a fifth straight Leinster final at their neighbours’ expense though wasn’t called upon. Lyng explained: “He got through the week pretty well, fitness test, everything else all strong but we weren’t going to take any chances as it turned out in the warm-up and all that. Look, Adrian has two weeks now which will definitely stand to him.”
“Yeah it is but, at the same time, we know we need to keep improving. At times, in spells in some of the games we’ve been really good and then there’s other times then where we’re not so good and we have to get a little bit more consistency in the 70 minutes.
