Paul McGinn says his side can take advantage of Killie's Europa Conference League adventure
Motherwell captain Paul McGinn hopes his side can capitalise on Kilmarnock’s Euro hangover and progress to the Premier Sports Cup quarter-finals.
McGinn’s side host Killie on Sunday in their last-16 tie, after the Ayrshire men tackle Tromso in the Europa Conference League third qualifying round second leg.The 33-year-old said: “They’ll have a tough fixture on Thursday night, which is good, so hopefully that goes to extra-time, Killie win, and we can catch them on the cold on the Sunday!
“We’ve got a home tie. It was tough going to St Mirren last season, especially with it being so early in the season, with boys bedding in, so hopefully this time we can use the home advantage.” McGinn made his comeback from an ankle injury in a 2-1 defeat to Rangers at Hampden on Saturday and said: “It was quite frustrating, and when you’re getting your first 90 you don’t really want it to be as hot as what it was today! All the latest sport news in Lanarkshire Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onX via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
