Marco's life has changed for the better since having trained with PT Thomas Starmore.

A young Lanarkshire man with cerebral palsy has gone from a doctor advising that it would be easier for him to stay in his wheelchair to now running and deadlifting thanks to a local personal trainer.

The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories, and allows you to customise your page to the sections that matter most to you.The 26-year-old PT spoke on how inspirational Marco is, he said: “The care that he had received from the NHS until he was 17 was amazing, but as soon as he became an adult, he lost a lot of his support.

“He has gone from not being able to walk very much to running and deadlifting 80kg for 10 reps, alongside doing pullups and dips. He said: “It does feel like I have defied the odds because I have gone in for surgeries that were so big that it could have gone either way. Marco’s story inspired Thomas, who told the First Minister Humza Yousaf his story upon a visit, so much that he has now applied for funding to help more young adults with cerebral palsy reach their potential.
