Chris Wilder has had virtually his full squad of players to work with ahead of Friday's trip to Leeds United
Unlike Leeds United, unbeaten Sheffield United will have all but one of their players available to prepare fully for Friday’s clash at Elland Road. While Daniel Farke had five members of his last starting line-up away with with national teams around the world through Tuesday and Wednesday morning, Chris Wilder is only missing Harry Souttar.
While Souttar and Tanaka’s late returns cancel each other out, the Blades did not have starters playing in Bermuda until 8.30pm last night and Mexico until 5.30am this morning. They also did not have their best player in Italy until 7.30pm on Tuesday. Kieffer Moore played for Wales, but he was an 89th-minute substitute in the match that was played in Cardiff in Monday night. And even that absence for the Blades was outweighed by Joe Rodon’s 90 minutes in the same game.
Farke will have virtually no choice but to play Tanaka, who clocked up more miles than Souttar on the pitch too. While Firpo and, certainly, Aaronson may force him to look at alternatives like Sam Byram or Joel Piroe.
