Speculation is abound that former Leeds United boss Neil Warnock could be set to depart from Championship rivals Huddersfield Town

When the Championship fixtures were announced earlier this summer many Leeds United fans will have circled October 28 in their diaries. Yorkshire derbies always seem to be part and parcel of the second-tier season, with a pre-Halloween clash against Huddersfield Town was set to be packed with all the usual narratives.

However, it looks as the Elland Road crowd may not get the chance to give Warnock their usual welcome, as speculation is rife that the Terriers boss is about to leave Leeds' Yorkshire rivals. The Times are among outlets reporting that the 74-year-old is set to step down today.Warnock was coy on his future after his side's 2-0 win over Rotherham United on Saturday, referring reporters to a press conference that is due to be held on Monday.

Warnock's time at Leeds saw him take over in February 2012 and guide Leeds to a 14th-place finish before he parted company with the club in April 2013 with the team five points off the drop zone. Since then the veteran boss has had stints at Crystal Palace, QPR, Rotherham United, Cardiff City and Middlesbrough before his return to Town earlier this year.
