Limerick bringing the most vacant sites back into use, figures show.
Figueres obtained byreporter Josh Crosbie show Limerick City and County Council has served 250 compulsory notices since 2018.A sample size from 20 councils shows a wide discrepancy around the country, with more than 755 sites overall having been brought back into use."We're out there every day pounding the streets, checking properties, checking ownership and trying to again work with owners," he said."Ownership is one of the biggest challenges to solving dereliction vacancy...
"Or we the council take the role, as the developer, we bring it back to a use where a new owner can take it on and put their own mark and stamp on it".
