Line of Duty finale explained: Everything you need to know
Line of Duty fans can breathe a sigh of relief after the dramatic end of the fifth series of the BBC1 drama showed thankfully that Ted Hastings is “not bent” and was being framed for the murder of John Corbett as he claimed.
He was able to befriend Anne-Marie because they were both Catholics. He was left inconsolable having to take a break from the interview to go to the toilet to compose himself. Prudish married man Hastings claimed that he wiped the computer -not because of corrupt activity- but because he had been watching pornography on it adding: “Nothing illegal, nothing extreme. I just did not want it to be found. That’s all. It was private. My wife has left me.”
The objectives of the operation was to prove if there were institutionised links between corrupt police offices and organised crime. They revisited Corbett’s wife, Steph, who admitted she had lied about them being in touch to protect him. She revealed Corbett believed his mother was betrayed by a police officer she was close to and trusted that lead to her being murdered by paramilitaries.
