Andy Farrell is playing a big role in the process of selecting his replacement in the Ireland hot-seat while he is away on Lions duty.
A final decision on a temporary successor to Farrell will be made after the upcoming summer tour of South Africa. 'It's a very exciting opportunity for someone to step in," said the IRFU's new performance director David Humphreys. Humphreys said that the possibility of bringing in an extra coach or coaches from the provinces will be discussed. Connacht's Pete Wilkins was brought on the tour of New Zealand two years ago as an assistant coach.
