Symi mayor Eleftherios Papakalodoukas says tragic television doctor Michael Mosley's final moments were 'so strange and crazy' as he spoke of the tragedy on the Greek island

Eleftherios Papakalodoukas said today: “Our report began last Wednesday in the evening where his wife reported ‘my husband is missing’. Then on Thursday we called extra forces from Rhodes and Athens. We searched every part of Symi. His walk was so strange. He started his way from the first part to the other side .”

‌Family and friends of Dr Mosley today visited the spot where his body was found and laid a single white flower. Three people, two men and a woman, arrived at the Agia Marina resort in Symi on a small boat and headed over the rocks to the scene where his body was found on Sunday morning. They spent 20 minutes consoling each other before leaving a single oleander flower. They declined to comment as they left.

He had been missing for four days and police say they believed he had walked from the village of Pedi in the direction of Agia beach. His body was found just 50 yards from the sea and a gate into the beach resort. Tourists were sunbathing at the resort today, 24 hours after his body was removed.
