Walsh believes RTÉ should 'think outside the box' in its approach to replacing the popular broadcast personality
X-Factor judge and pop manager Louis Walsh has given his opinion on how he thinks RTÉ should solve the issue of filling the radio slot left vacant by Ryan Tubridy. However, it was confirmed last week by RTÉ Director General Kevin Bakhurst that there are "no plans" for Tubridy to return to resume radio presenting duties with RTÉ "at this time".
He said: "RTÉ should think outside the box and not start looking at the usual faces that we all know," he told the Sunday World. "They should do a reality TV show and let the public pick somebody. In the meantime, they could fill the slot with a temporary replacement for Tubs.""It’s like a boring old institution. It’s tired and it needs new energy, it needs new people. I used to love going out there because it was always fun. Now whenever I go out I see people walking around like robots. Nobody seems to love their job anymore.
