The crisis at the broadcaster runs far deeper than the scandal around the payments to the former Late Late Show host
The most significant part of the two Thursday evening TV interviews conducted by RTÉ director general Kevin Bakhurst on his own station was a bit that did not contain any direct reference to ousted
broadcaster Ryan Tubridy at all. Instead, it was Bakhurst’s reference to the need for “interim funding”, because of an unfolding financial crisis at the national broadcaster, that may have been the most important comment.
