The legendary voice of many all-time classic GAA moments has died at the age of 93.
The GAA world is in mourning this afternoon at the news of the death of legendary commentator Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh at the age of 93.
A master behind the mic, Ó Muircheartaigh provided the soundtrack for many of the GAA's most iconic moments over the next 61 years before retiring from live commentary in 2010 just a couple of months after Cork beat Down in the All-Ireland football final. "Seán Óg Ó hAilpín: his father’s from Fermanagh, his mother’s from Fiji. Neither a hurling stronghold."
