has been closed in part of the East Midlands after a crash resulted in a vehicle overturning. Motorists are being advised to divert after the collision between junctions 21 and 20 on the morning of Sunday, August 14.
National Highways said on Twitter: "M1 southbound is closed J21 - J20 near Leicester, due to a collision/overturned vehicle. Emergency services including Leicestershire Road Policing Unit are at scene. Diversion via M69 south, A5 south to Hinckley and A4303 east to J20 near Lutterworth. Follow the hollow square symbol."
Currently, delays on the approach to J21 are less than 10 minutes. National Highways advisees on its website: "Leave the M1 at J21 and head south-west on the M69 to J1 of the M69 at Hinckley. Then head south-east on the A5 to Lutterworth and then head east on the A4303 to re-join the M1 at J20."
