The company which manages payments had its licence revoked

Gift cards will no longer be able to be used in a number of Irish shopping centres after the payment company that provides the service had its licence revoked.

Multiple shopping centres around the country have been affected by this, including Liffey Valley Shopping Centre in Dublin and the Square Tallaght in Dublin and Mahon Point Shopping Centre in Cork, all of which will no longer accept or issue their gift cards. In a statement, Mahon Point confirmed that they would no longer be able to sell or accept gift cards due to UAB PayrNet having their licence revoked, however, they did not confirm when this issue would be resolved.

"This situation arises from UAB PayrNet, the payments firm responsible for managing the funds of gift cards, having their licence revoked. "At this stage, the full implications and the timeline for a resolution are not completely clear. However, we are working closely with the gift card provider and exploring every possible avenue to rectify the situation as swiftly as possible."
