A major search operation is underway in Wexford town after a young man reportedly entered the water early this morning. Emergency teams including the Irish Coast Guard, RNLI and gardai are focusing on the Wexford Bridge and Harbour area.
A large-scale search operation is underway in Wexford town after a young man reportedly entered the water.
After several hours of searching, the operation was temporarily paused at around 5am to allow for improved weather and visibility. It resumed at 8am with additional support from Dublin-based Coast Guard helicopter R116.ardaí and local rescue services are conducting a search operation in Wexford Bridge and Harbour for a male that entered the water in the early hours of Sunday morning 27th October, 2024 at approximately 2am.
"Following an extensive search of the area, at approximately 5am the search was suspended until 07:30am to allow local conditions improve for search operations. The search has now resumed with Rosslare/Carnsore and Curracloe Coast Guard units, Wexford RNLI and Dublin based Coast Guard helicopter R116 on scene."
