In a statement gardai confirmed that they and emergency services were “alerted to a fatal workplace accident at a premises near Tullow, Co Carlow” on Monday morning. Gardai continued: “A male in his 70s was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body has been removed to the mortuary in University Hospital Waterford, where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.“A file will be prepared for the Coroner's Court”.
