A man charged connection with stabbing incidents in Dublin ’s Stoneybatter told gardai “I was afraid to be killed.”

The accused, who was visibly crying court, was charged with possession of a box cutter knife at Murtagh Road, possession of a scissors on Manor Place - and two charges of assault causing harm to two named individuals on Sunday February 9. Giving evidence of arrest charge and caution, Detective Garda David Chapman of Bridewell Garda station said he arrested the accused on February 10 at 10:35pm for the purpose of charge.

Det Garda Chapman said Gardai would be objecting to bail. However solicitor Michael French, representing the accused, made no application for bail at this time.
