Darren Quinlivan, charged with murdering Noel Campion in Limerick city in 2007, has been granted bail by the High Court. Ms Justice Karen O’Connor made the decision, stating Mr Quinlivan's strong ties to Ireland through his family and employment history in the UK. Gardaí had expressed concerns about Mr Quinlivan's potential flight risk, but the judge was satisfied with his assurances and ordered his release.
Mr Campion, a pillion passenger on a motorbike, was shot at a junction in Thomondgate in April 2007. The trial, which could be two years away, will determine the outcome of the case
