The suspect is due to appear at Blanchardstown District Court following an alleged assault in the car park of the Clonsilla Inn that left a man in critical condition

A man arrested after an alleged ‘one punch’ assault which left another man fighting for his life in hospital is due in court this morning.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda Station in the Dublin Region. He has since been charged and will now appear before court. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of the premises at the time of the incident to come forward.
