The suspect is due to appear at Blanchardstown District Court following an alleged assault in the car park of the Clonsilla Inn that left a man in critical condition
A man arrested after an alleged ‘one punch’ assault which left another man fighting for his life in hospital is due in court this morning. A man, aged 42, suffered serious injuries after he was believed to have been punched in the car park of the Clonsilla Inn on the Clonsilla Road in Dublin 15 shortly before 11pm on Sunday night.
The man is now fighting for his life in Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, where his condition is being described as critical, after he was struck following a suspected row in the pub which then spilled out to the car park. A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda Station in the Dublin Region. He has since been charged and will now appear before court. A Garda spokesperson said: “The man, aged in his 20s, arrested in connection with this incident has been charged. “He is due to appear at Blanchardstown District Court, this morning, Tuesday 4 February 2025, at 10.30am.” Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of the premises at the time of the incident to come forward.
