A man in his 70s has died after the car he was driving struck a pole in Fermoy, Co Cork
The man, who was the only occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been taken to the mortuary at Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information relating to the crash to contact them at Fermoy Garda Station on 025-82100, on the Garda Confidential Line - 1800 666 111 - or at any other garda station.
